Att bli en som tar för sig i livet. Anhörigas uppfattningar om hur socialt stöd kan förbättra den psykiska hälsan för personer med funktionsnedsättning

Abstract

The Swedish National Board of Youth Affairs' knowledge magazine (2012) shows that many young people with disabilities are more dissatisfied with their lives and have a poorer general condition compared with other young people. The ambition has been to answer the following research question: What social support is desired by relatives of their relatives with physical and / or mental disabilities? The selection was based on self-selection, where it was the respondents themselves who decided whether they considered that they belonged to the selection or not. The survey has been reached mainly through Facebook and other social media. The post with a link to the survey has been divided into different groups for relatives of people with different types of disabilities. A central conclusion linked to the purpose was that society and the environment should take advantage of the knowledge that relatives possess, as it is of great help to both professionals and for the person with a disability.
