Abstract
This article highlights how SFS 2017: 857 is applied in the Social Work Programme, Urban Profile at Södertörn University regarding teaching about men's violence against women and violence in close relationships. The students are taught by senior lecturers and professionals from social services and women's shelter. The education the students take part in contains of different central perspectives; theories of vulnerability, legal aspects, opportunities for social protection, child perspective and professional perspective. A fictitious report of concern about violence is written as well as a fictitious child assessment. Students discuss possible interventions and the challenge of handling difficult stories of violence. The ambition is to communicate knowledge which means that professional social workers can provide support, good assessments and propose and implement adequate resources support.
