Minskad alkohol- och cannabisanvändning bland ungdomar på Maria-mottagningar. En effekt av Coronapandemin?

Abstract

The study highlights the possible significance of the Covid-19 pandemic for the 658 young people who initiated treatment for alcohol and drug problems at the Maria clinics in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö in 2020 in terms of drug use and psychosocial situation compared with data for 2016-2019. The study observes several parallel reductions of young people's alcohol and cannabis use, which may be linked to changing social patterns because of increased social distancing during the pandemic. These positive indications can be reflected in a presumed increase in mental illness in the coming years.
