Abstract
This article gives an overview of the principles of risk, need and responsivity (RNR), which is the Swedish Prison and Probation Service´s guiding star in working with relapse prevention. The article also gives a brief summary of the methods used by prison and probation officers to achieve and support change in clients. Finally, the article provides an introduction to the Swedish Prison and Probation Service`s treatment programs and the training needed for staff facilitating domestic violence and sexual violence programs.
