Organisational learning as method for bottom-up psychiatric health care development

Swedish health care needs extensive reformation. Therefore, development needs to shift form temporary projects to continuous organisational learning. Aims of the project were: A) To develop a method for managing health care, relying on organisational learning on a psychiatric out-patient ward.  B) Health care goals were to focus on patients´ needs and influence, to implement scientific knowledge and digital solutions, as well as to improve availability, effectiveness and equality. Scientific, organizational and psychiatric competences manged the work together. After one year focus group interviews with staff were used for evaluation. Staff invented health care solutions in accordance with the aims, which also resulted in professional development and increased joy at work. Application of organizational learning shows promising results as method for developing health care.
