Strecken under strecket – Om fattigdomar och idéburna organisationers möjliga roll

Abstract

Despite the fact that poverty in Sweden is limited by European standards, there are groups in Swedish society that are particularly vulnerable. Here, such groups are highlighted, and it is discussed how many people live far below the official poverty lines that are specified to establish fair and reasonable living standards. There are lines below the line. Moreover, it is argued that idea-based organisations, such as the Swedish city missions, may in some respects be particularly suited to meet people in poverty. The discussion takes its point of departure in public statistics in the area as well as in our own previously collected and reported empirical data.
