Abstract
Scrutinizing the concept of existential health show that it mainly focus on spirituality, faith and meaning. The concept seems developed without much connection to other existential comittments for help and support such as existential counselling and psychotherapy. The conclusion is that the Swedish translation of “spiritual health” to “existential health” is unfortunate since it deprives the concept “existential” its holistic qualities, overfocuses on the positive possibilities of mans’ existence and lacks a sound criticism of the psychiatric dominance. In its place is proposed the expression Existence and health and to use, in Swedish, the expression “andlig hälsa”.
