Abstract
Mental illness in children and youth is a major challenge for public health. In order to meet the need for step-by-step care, the first-line clinic Child and Youth Health (BUH) in Region Jonkoping County developed a digital interactive parent support program Meet your child’s worries. The target group is parents of children aged 6-13 with mild to moderate anxiety and a relatively good level of functioning.
Evaluation showed that 97 percent of the parents self-estimated their ability to handle their child’s anxiety higher after going through the program. Parents also described that they gained increased knowledge and understanding about anxiety and tools for coping and strategies.
The program increased flexibility, availability and resource efficiency on current units.
