Samtal som stärker existentiell hälsa när livet utmanar - Existentiell hälsa ur ett folkhälso- och folkbildningsperspektiv

Abstract

During our lives we will unvoluntary meet ”limitsituations”, changes that is so fundamental that life as we know it will never be the same again. In our society we seldom talk about the concept of existential illness and there is very little support of strengthening it, therefore there is a risk of a transition into a deeper psychological illness that demands medication, psychological treatment and sick leave. There is therefore wast opportunities for society to reduce existential and psychological illness through prevention in strengthening mans existential health.
One option meeting the exitential questions in life, is to participate in conversationsgroups sharing experiences with each other. With the support of ”Conversationcards when life challenges” with 8 aspects of life to talk about- the group gets a common structure helping us to reflect and comunicate with others how we relate to life and what we need to have a good life.
The knowledge we develop about ourselves with the support of the 8 aspects of life - and the experiences we have by getting through difficulties - could enhance our resiliens to meet challenges in our lives.
