"Mötas i Musik" - En musikterapimetod med syfte att främja socialt samspel

Abstract

Mötas i Musik” (MiM), is a model used in music therapy treatment at the Adult Habilitation Center in Region Örebro County. MiM is primarily offered to individuals with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) without an intellectual disability. The MIM is based on the main category “meeting”, which in turn lead to nine subcategories; structure, invitation, participation, interaction, challenge, adaptation, security, courage and shared joy. This article concludes with discussing how the MiM can be used to approach the difficulties that are common in individuals with ASD.
